The Czech Mountaineering Association’s leadership released an invitation this week to its General Assembly, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Prague’s Strahov district. In addition to the usual agenda items (financial report for the past year, budget for 2026, etc.), the agenda will also include a supplementary election to the Executive Committee and an amendment to the Disciplinary Rules. The reason for the special election is the resignation of Štefan Kecskes, a current member of the Executive Committee who was co-opted to the position on December 18, 2025. He wishes to run in a full-scale election. According to the proposal, the amendment to the ÈHS Disciplinary Rules is necessary due to the ÈHS Code of Ethics, which the ÈHS Executive Committee plans to draft and implement during 2026. By creating and approving the Code of Ethics, the ÈHS is responding to the National Code of Ethics in Sport, issued by the National Sports Agency, which, in addition to the adoption of a federation code and the introduction of the role of a safeguard, also calls for amendments to the disciplinary rules to enable the investigation and resolution of negative phenomena in sport as serious disciplinary offenses, including not only violations of fair play rules but also violations of the principles of equal treatment, psychological and physical violence, particularly concerning young athletes, etc. The 2026 budget anticipates total revenues of approximately CZK 46 million and costs of approximately CZK 49 million and does not include the budget for the 2026 Sport Climbing World Cup in Prague, which has its own budget and whose overall impact on the financial results should be zero, or it should generate a contribution to cover part of the ÈHS’s overhead costs. The 2026 World Cup event in Prague, which will take place in June and feature an expanded format—including bouldering and, for the first time, lead climbing—has a base budget of approximately CZK 33.5 million. A significant source of funding will be a grant from the NSA to support Major Sporting Events, according to the materials for the general meeting.
