13 deads in Slovak Tatras mountains |
From December 23rd to January 4th mounatin rescuers in Slovak mointains recorded 152 accidents, including seven fatal in Tatras mountains. Another six dead has been recorded in Polish side of the mountains.The Slovak media inform about the news according to the extraordinary press conference that organized Slovak mountain rescue service yesterday.
On December 30th four people died – three mountaineers in High Tatras and one tourist in Rohace (West Tatras).
On New Year Eve one tourist died in Bielanske Tatras.
On January 2nd a young mountain skier died in Rohace (West Tatras).
Another mountaineer died on January 3rd. He fell down 200 metres.
There is very hard and icy snow in Tatras mountains and one can slip easily.
