Stoupa the Strong

DRYTOOLING as a relatively new discipline is becoming an attractive option for young strong climbers. One of them is Dušan Janák aka Stoupa with whom we set off to the HÖNCENSTEINTAL valley in Dolomites on 17th February 2004.

Stoupa was keen to climb FLY IN THE WIND (M10) and chose STILLE ERINNERUNGEN (M9-)  to warm up at first. The latter took him two attempts to complete leaving FLY IN THE WIND for the next day.
Stoupa then literally trashed the route with his new GLADIATOR prototype tools from Raveltik until a trashed hold at the end of the roof stopped his efforts. Since there was not much energy left after that this, possibly M11, will have to wait till next time.
