Banff Mountain Film Festival

Banff mountain film festival is coming to the Czech Republic for the second time. What would be a better place than Jicin, the gateway of famous sandstone area Cesky Raj.

The films projection will be divided into two evenings, June 11-12, 2004 and will take place in the cinema Cesky Raj. Vaclav Zmolik will introduce each block of films. There will also be a lottery with a lot of outdoor stuff to be won and many other associated activities some of which will take you to the nearby Prachov sandstone towers.

Complete information about Banff Mountain Film Festival – World Tour in Jicin is available at www.lkp.cz.

We are looking forward seeing you there and hope that you cannot wait to see all those great films (with Czech subtitles) on a wide screen with Dolby stereo.

All the films shown at the festival are great. For example one of the funniest is called Biscuit. Have you ever seen a dog climbing? No? Well, that is the one to see then. It is about a dog (apparently) climbing just to be with its owner. What grade does Biscuit climb? Does Biscuit use a chalk? For answers and more please come to Jicin.

Another one is a fantastic film by Michal Pitelka presenting the ascent of Eiger using equipment from days of the first ascent.

Michal Pitelka a Stephan Siegrist went in the footsteps of Eiger pioneers.
