Alena Cepelkova is new chairman of Czech Mountaineering Union

smMrs. Alena Cepelkova was elected today in Prague as a new chairman of the Czech Mountaineering Union.

She exchanged Mr. Jiri Novak who decided to resign mainly because of being busy in professional career.

Mrs. Alena Čepelková (Stehlíková) (1953), in early 80´s the last century she was the most succesful Czechoslovakian woman mountaineer. She did hard climbs in Bohemian sandstones and climbed in High Tatras, Alps, Caucasus, Pamir and in Himalaya. E.g. in Mont Blanc groupe Hemming route in West face Pt. Dru (1981), in Bergell 1st winter (1st women) ascent etc.
