Czech lady mountains legend has gone

Věra Komárková, the first Czech women who climbed 8000 metres high mountain, died yesterday (May 25 2005) at her flat in Leysin, Switzerland, at age of 62.
In the year 1978 she ascented Annapurna within an American woman expedition, in 1984 she ascented Cho Oju together with another Czech women Dina Štěrbová and Sherpa Ang Rita.

She emigrated from Czechoslovakia after 1968.
