Climbing World Championship in Munich

Tomáš Mrázek won the World Championship and is again World Champion! It is according to the final results of the Chamionship. He sent the final route and was 1st in front of Patxi Usobiaga (2nd,ESP) and Alexandre Chabot (3rd,FRA), who both also sent the finals route, but had worse results from the semifinals. Ramon Julian (ESP), who was the best in semifinals, was not on the finals starting list?? Check out www.world-climbing-championships.com
According to a readers report from Lezec.cz Ramon was disqualified, because he came to isolation late.

Angela Eiter (AUT) won the women finals. Men start in some moments after 21:45.

Tomáš Mrázek goes to the finals of the World Championship in lead climbing in Munich (Germany) tonight from the second position in morning semifinals. Juraj Repčík (SVK) ended 19th.

News from July 1:
Tomáš Mrázek continued today to the Saturday´s semifinals of World Championship in lead climbing in Munich (Germany) as the only Czech who sent in both qualification routes. The Czech Václav Malina sent the first route and finished 32nd, Jan Zbranek did not send anyone and finished 63th.
Among women the best was Soňa Hnízdilová who ended 31st with one send, Nelly Kudrová did also one route and with worse result in the second route she ended 48th, Kateřina Chudobová did not finish a route and finished 56th.
Slovak Juraj Repčík enter semifinals too with 2 sends. The other Slovak Onřej Švub finished without a send at about 65th.

News about W. Champ. from June 30:
World Championship in climbing starts on Friday as the largest action of the year (July 1-5  2005). The number of participators should be record. Chamionship will be in all three competition categories - lead (difficulty) climbing, speed climbing and bouldering. We expect participation of our the best favorite, the reigning World Champion Tomas Mrazek and the other Czech men and women in various categories.

The list of registred is at  start list of ICC.
The lead will take place on Friday and Saturday, speed on Sunday, bouldering on Monday and Tuesday.
The program and more details are on site of organizers www.world-climbing-championships.com, who announced also on line reporting and streeming of finals.
