Artificial ice at Jizerske hory (Iser Gebirge)

Try to look at the tip for ice climbing we tried this weekend at the artificial ice tower in ski resort at Tanvaldsky Spicak in Jizerske hory (Iser Gebirge), close to Jablonec, Nord Bohemia.

The tower hosted the World Cup Ice climbing competiton on January 28 2006 and after that it was open for public (Ice climbing World Cup + video).

The ice construction is open for public on weekends, it is said people can telephone and arrange climbing for week days too. The entrance fee is 40 CZK/hour (1,3 Euro), 100 CZK/day (3,30 Euro) for organized climbers. People can rent the tools and shoes with crampoons etc. More at www.icebreaker.cz
Because the weather is still winterlike, the organizer suppose they will let it open till the half ot April 2006.
