Bimbaluna 9a/a+ sent by Rosťa Štefánek

Rosťa Štefánek announced he has sent the route Bimbaluna, 9a/a+ in the Swiss area of Saint Loup. He is the first Czech to overcome the 9a grade.

The route was made famous by Joshune Bereziatu and was put up by Francois Nicole a brother of Freda Nicole.

Rosťa Štefánek said in the North Bohemia climbing magazine CAO News released today that he had worked on the route couple days (two visits of this area within 5 months). He sent it on March 14th 2006.

Bimbaluna is 20 metres long and 35 moves. Rosťa explained that the route's first half was quite easy. Than the boulder starts with about 9 moves and the first 3 from them are the hardest. It is climbing on the vertical wall so the holds are very small.
