The latest book, SKI MOUNTAINEERING IN TYROL (Scialpinismo in Tirolo) witten by Roberto Iacopelli, a mountain guide from Bolzano. Roberto workeked hard over the last three years to cover the valleys from Innsbruck to the Brenner Pass.

Roberto put his systematic research into practice through his guide experiences. Each trip reported in the book has been undertaken, photographed and described by the author himself. An exceptional experience is focused within this original guide book.

All facts are very well sorted and organized.

Versante Sud Publishing is an Italian company, which has become famous within guidebook world. Who doesn't know the great Arco guide book? They very early on realized that climbers don't just need shiny quickdraws, but also reliable and good looking guide books- where all information is given at comprehensive level.

The next book we would like to mention in this review is the UP year book.

These types of books are becoming popular in climbing.

The climbing year book called  European Climbing Report seems to be the best of these yearly editions.

Along with reporting of advances and the years biggest sends, you can also find here information and topos of the latest developed areas in Europe, including Spain, Italy, France and Greece.  For those of you who are tired of road tripping to the same locations every year, or are just interested in new rock, it's definitely worth to have this book.
There are three sets of milestones for the year 2007: Mountains, Mixed routes, and Rock.

Its a very pleasant fact that Adam Ondra's entries are presented also and they are spread within one tenth of all rock climbing entries.

 "with English version"10:50:16 11.12.2007
Hi Andy,

just what exactly means "with English version" notice on the ski mountaineering guidebook? Is it completely written in English?

Thanks,

Mirek.

The Ski mountaineering guide book is kind of bi-lingual book. One page is in Italian language and opposite page is an English translation.
Up year book is a book which you can have completely in English.
