Avalanche buried snowboarder in Krkonose

On Polish side of the mountaines

Giant avalanche buried a snowboarder on Saturday afternoon in Polish side of Krkonose (Giant Mountains, Riesen Gebirge, North border of Bohemia, West part of Czech), Czech mainstream news site iDNES reported.

80 rescuers from Poland and Czech Republic has searched him, but because of dark and bad weather they had to interrupt the action last night. The another avalanche hazard is very probable too. On Sunday the rescuers found his body.

The avalanche fell in glacier valley Biely Jar above the Polish town Karpacz. It is said to be similar like the avalanche 40 years ago, that hit entire tourist group and and the same place killed 19 people.
