The General Assembly of the Czech Mountaineering Association met on Saturday in Prague and elected Štefan Kecskes in a by-election to fill a vacant seat on the Executive Committee. In addition to the standard agenda items, the assembly approved an amendment to the CCA’s Disciplinary Rules. It also conferred honorary membership on several individuals: Leopold Páleníček, Sylva Talla, and Herbert Richter, and in memoriam on Silva Kysilková, Josef Smítka, and Otto Jelínek.
Štefan Kecskes, an elected member of the Executive Committee and chairman of the obrLEZke club, was co-opted into office on December 18, 2025, but was interested in participating in a full-fledged election.
The amendment to the ČHS Disciplinary Code responds to the needs of competitive sport and paves the way for the creation of the ČHS Code of Ethics. The Executive Committee was tasked with drafting it, and the document is to be based on the principles of respect, equal opportunity, fair play, and environmentally responsible behavior.
The General Assembly approved the creation of a Development Projects Fund. Twenty-five percent of the previous year’s net profit after taxes will be allocated to this fund annually. The fund is intended to enable the implementation of selected projects in the following year and to establish a transparent system for their selection, management, and oversight.
