On Friday 7 September the world's climbing oscars, the SALEWA ROCK AWARD and the LA SPORTIVA COMPETITION AWARD, will be presented on the eve of the XXI Rock Master. An international jury comprised of some of the world's most authoritative specialised climbing magazines has just selected the candidates for the Arco Rock Legends 2007, the awards which aim to recognise the performances of the best climbers in the world. New to this second edition is the inclusion of bouldering for the rock Award, other than just single pitch sports climbing. For the second year running the Jury has selected an impressive list of candidates for this prestigious sports climbing oscar. Those nominated for the <b>SALEWA ROCK AWARD</b> are the two Americans <b>Dave Graham</b> and <b>Daniel Woods</b>, the Spaniard <b>Patxi Usobiaga</b>, the German <b>Andreas Bindhammer</b> and young <b>Adam Ondra</b> from the Czech Republic. The <b>LA SPORTIVA COMPETITION AWARD</b> on the other hand will be decided between Austrian <b>Angela Eiter</b>, her young teammate <b>David Lama</b> and the Spaniard <b>Patxi Usobiaga</b>, the only climber to be nominated for both awards. Just like last year the Jury will meet on Friday 7 September 2007 at the Arco Casinò to choose the climber who distinguished himself most on rock for the SALEWA ROCK AWARD and to select the athlete who distinguished him or herself most in competitions for the LA SPORTIVA COMPETITION AWARD. The winners will be announced that very same evening during a special Award's Ceremony hosted by <b>Kay Rush</b>, the TV and radio journalist and keen climber and sportswoman. The ceremony will take place on the eve of the two Rock Master competition days scheduled for Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September. Expectations are high for this unique event in the climbing world, just as they are for the 21st edition of the Rock Master which, once again, gathers together the entire climbing world at Arco for the classic champions competition.
