Text It describes 26 climbing areas on the Amalfi Coast, the Sorrentina Peninsula and in Cilento, wonderful places where climbing leads to knowledge of the area, its people and its history. The almost mystical beauty of these unique locations adds to the physical pleasure of climbing here. The cliffs of Palinuro, the crags of Mount Bulgheria and the Alburni Mountains as well as thousands of other stupendous crags still offer infinite possibilities for the future of "modern" climbing. Year by year rock climbing has become an important part of these areas as well as a relatively significant economic resource for the local tourism industry. Climbing here has become a valid alternative to the crowded "classic" crags in Central and Northern Italy. The guidebook was written by <b>Oreste Bottiglieri</b>. This keen climber was born in Cava de' Tirreni (SA) in 1972. He divides his time between the Amalfi Coast and Cilento, where he has bolted over 500 climbing routes. Oreste has been climbing since he was 13 years old and he's now a climbing instructor, an environmental guide and, above all the founder and soul of Climbing House, the association that has overseen the development of the majority of climbing sites in Campania for more than 20 years.
