Climbing Categories range from bouldering to high-altitude mountaineering and are not very strictly defined since ground breaking climbs often bend the old definitions.

Every January the editors at Climbing begin scouring the records, recollections and rumors for the most impressive ascents of the past year. 
The sport climbing commission of the Czech Mountaineering union has launched an opinion poll among the climbers whether they prefere to climb qualification routes in Czech Cup lead climbing competitions in flash or onsight climbing style.
Czech climber Standa Hovanec ended on the 14th place on Friday at the World Cup competition in ice climbing in Valle di Daone, Italy, in the one of two qualification groups. Another Czech Jirka Pelikán finished the 15th in the other group. Altogather 21 climbers continues from the both qualification.
Adam Ondra (13 years old) and Nelly Kudrová (26) won the 1st open ranking competition 2007 in lead climbing on Saturday, January 13, in Police nad Metuji, North Est Bohemia, Czech Republic.
The series of the international ice climbing competitions 2007 starts to the end of this week. The first part of the World Championship in ice climbing takes place on Friday January 19th in Vall di Daone, Italy. Czech participation there is expected. 
Climbing magazine has been purchased by Skram Media, the company which is behind the publishing of Urban Climber magazine.
TRACE CATALANE - LES ANGLES FRANCE 7.1.2006 - The silver and bronze medals for Czechs on European Cup in ski mountaineering competition.
The new large indoor climbing wall has been open last week in Prague. The wall is said to have parametres siutable for World Cup climbing competitions. It is located in Prague 5, quarter Smichov, and its name is SmichOFF.
