Two top Czech mountaineers granted by the Fair Play prize
The Chairman of the Czech Mountaineering Union Zdenek Hruby together with his mountaineering partner Radek Jaros were granted today the main Prize of Fair Play from the Czech Club of Fair Play.
Czech Mounaineering Union changed the rule of chalk ban on sand
Czech mountaineering union approved today the change in ban of chalk usage on Czech sandstones. According to the new decision chalk is not banned in general climbing rules, but the regulation is in competence of the local mountaineering commissions.

New Chairman of the Czech Mountaineering Union: Zdenek Hruby
Czech Mountaineering Union has elected new chairman today on its general assembly in Prague. The New chairman Zdenek Hruby has exchanged Alena Cepelkova who had served her 2nd term and did not want to continue in next period.

This 7th annual of the open air bouldering competition Petrohradske PADani is scheduled on Saturday April 25th 2009
in village Petrohrad (West Bohemia, between Prague and Karlovy Vary - Karslbad, CZ). The competition or rather more international boulder session is Central European event similar to Italian Mellobloco.
It is organized by Petr Resch and Karel Hegr. The contact on them is on email: petrohrad@email.cz.
The event starts from 10 am on Petrohrad village square. The competition - session will be two days long. System is the same as in the older annuals, after party...etc. The more info would be presented later.
Registration:
there are two way how to take part in (there is no need to send any data/confirmation in advance)
a) on Friday evening in the camp in Jesenice
b) on Saturday on the main square of the village Petrohrad at the registration desk from 9 to 10 a.m.
This year the mysterious Petrohrad forest offer about 300 brand new boulder problems. The majority of them are beautiful stunning lines- some of them are quiet a highballs. For ambitious boulderers there are about twenty 7C problems and about eight eights, one 8B and even one 8B+.
As the last year we focused on opening of easier stuff so also people climbing 4, 5, and 6 Fb will be happy.

Competitions:
Main competition - Everyone´s eight hardest boulders will be counted. Collector - The most boulders in the day (just in one day).
There will be some bonus problems hidden in the forest which won’t be in the topo and your task will be to find them and climb them.
Agenda:
Saturday: from 11.00 till 17.00 Sunday: 9.00 – 14.00, 14.30 winners announcement
Evenings:
1.Friday – open fire in Jesenice campground
2. Saturday - three live music groups, photo show, beer, food
Access:
Petrohrad is situated about 80 km west from Prague and about 50 km north from Plzen.
Access from Prague: Take Hvy (a toll route) no.6 direction to Karlovy Vary. There is 80 km from Prague on this route the Petrohrad village. Turn left and after about 1,5 km you reach the village center.
From Karlovy Vary: The same route No.6 direction Prague at about 80 km from Karlovy Vary is Petrohrad. This time you should turn right and after 1,5 km you are in the village centre.
From Plzeň: Take route No.27 direction Most and after 50 km you will reach the sign Petrohrad. Or you can continue a few km further and reach the route No.6, from which you can go to Petrohrad. See description above.
