Czech Championship in lead climbing wins Tomas Mrazek and Lucie Hrozova today in Prague. Tomas Mrazek was the only who did top in finals. Parallel championship in speed climbing wins Libor Hroza and hist sister Lucie Hrozova.
Not only did top mountaineer Valery Babanov (CAN, RUS), extreme climbers Ueli Steck (SUI) and Adam Ondra (CZE) attend the 5th annual of Festival of Alpinism in Smichov, Prague which took place on Nov 21-23, 2008- But also the president of Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus came.
This month over 20 editors from 10 different countries gathered in Colorado and the desert of Utah to meet, climb, and discuss various issues in the climbing media community.
Festak - International Mountaineering Film Festival 2008
The Grand prize of the 25th annual of International Mountaineering Film Festival (MHFF) was granted to Slovak film Neznama Antarktida (Unknown Antarctica) by Pavol Barabas about walk from borders of Antarctica to its highest point. The festival nicknamed Festak in Teplice nad Metuji (close to Adrspach sandstone towers, north east Bohemia, north of Czech Republic) finished today.

Some of the most popular areas visited frequently by Czech climbers are just across the border. One of them is Ennstal- close to Linz, Austria- which is well know mostly by climbers from Souther Bohemia.

Adam Ondra climbed multipitch WoGü 8c in Ratikon, Switzerland, last weekend. The route by Beat Kammerlander from 1997 had originally suggested two pitches of 8c and Adam is prepared to confirm the global grade of entire route, Adams father wrote today on Czech version of CzechClimbing.com.
