Czechs first ascended new route on Hunza Peak in Pakistan
The first ascent of the impressive southwest face of the six-thousander Hunza Peak in the Karakoram in Pakistan was recently made by Zdeněk Hák and Radek Groh.
Frenchwoman Oriane Bertone won the World Cup bouldering event in Prague today. Frenchwoman Agathe Calliet was second, and Japanese Melody Sekikawa was third. The women´s final standings were decided by the result of the morning semi-final, as the evening final was canceled due to bad weather conditions.
Mejdi Schalck from France won the final of the 2025 World Cup in Bouldering in Prague this evening. Japanese Sorato Anraku was second, French Samuel Richard was third.
Adam Ondra finished with one top in the semi-finals of the Prague Bouldering World Cup 2025 today without advancing to the evening finals. This starts today at Letná at 6:30 PM without Czech representation. Adam was 15th out of 27 semi-finalists.
Czech town Brno to host the 2027 World Climbing Championships
The Czech Republic has successfully applied to host the 2027 World Sport Climbing Championships. The decision was made today at the General Assembly of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) in Cyprus. The championship will take place from 13 to 27 August 2027 in the Arena Brno, which is still under construction.

Adam Ondra announced that he had successfully repeated the 9A Soudain seul boulder in Fontainebleau, France. The following day, he flashed boulders Ubik assis (8B) and La Ligne de Bête (8B+).
World Cup speed ice climbing Saas Fee (SUI): Aneta Loužecká 3rd
Czech Aneta Loužecká won the bronze medal in the female finals of the World Cup in speed ice climbing in Saas Fee, Switzerland, yesterday. In the men's category, Czechs competitors finished in the qualification: Matyáš Lienerth 29th, Jan Mikel 30th and Pavel Motal 44th.
Czech girl Markéta Janošová won today Youth European Championship in lead climbing in Perm, Russia. The other two Czech girls were 3rd in their categories. Michaela Smetanova got bronze in lead climbing, Arina Jurčenko in bouldering.
