Jana Švecová has climbed another 8C boulder, "Drift," at Holštejn in the Moravian Karst. It is an original variation of her boulder Tokyo Drift, which she first ascended at the end of March.
Pepa Šindel climbed another 9a route: Biologico in Arco, Italy
Pepa Šindel has added another 9a-rated route to his list of ascents: the Biologico line in Arco, Italy. He logged the climb in his Lezec logbook and posted about it on Instagram. This is Pepa’s 15th route rated 9a to 9a+.
2026 General Meeting of the Czech Mountaineering Association
The General Assembly of the Czech Mountaineering Association met on Saturday in Prague and elected Štefan Kecskes in a by-election to fill a vacant seat on the Executive Committee. In addition to the standard agenda items, the assembly approved an amendment to the CCA’s Disciplinary Rules. An expedition set out from the Czech Republic for Nepal with the goal of climbing Makalu (8,485 m). The climbing team consists of Martin Ksandr, Pavel Burda, Pavel Paloncý, and Markéta Marvanová. Marián Šajnoha, a prominent Slovak mountaineer and former long-time president of the Slovak Mountaineering Association (SHS JAMES), has died at the age of 86. He was one of the leading figures in Slovak mountaineering during the second half of the 20th century and remained actively involved in its development even after 1989.
