Czechia appears twice in the preliminary selection of climbing ascents for the Piolets d'Or 2025 award for 2024: Jaroslav Bánský, Radoslav Groh, and Zdeněk Hák for the first ascent of the virgin Muchu Chhish (7,453 m) and Marek Holeček and Slovak Ondra Húserka, who died during the descent, for the first ascent of the east face of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m).

Lukáš Mokroluský and Arina Jurčenko won the Czech Republic Bouldering Championships yesterday evening at the Jungle climbing wall in Letňany, Prague. Jan Štípek and Sára Šimeková (SVK) came second, and Darius Naimji and Ema Galeová came third.
World Championships in climbing in Seoul - boulder
Lukáš Mokroluský finished 19th in the bouldering semifinals at the World Climbing Championships in Seoul, South Korea, today, failing to advance to the finals. The finals were won by Japan's Sorato Anraku, with France's Mejdi Schalck in second place and South Korea's Dohyun Lee in third.

Climbing World Championships in boulder in Seoul - qualification
Lukáš Mokroluský advanced to the semifinals of bouldering at the World Climbing Championships. He finished 17th in today's qualification round. Arina Jurčenko also represented Czechia in bouldering today, but she did not advance, finishing in 30th place. The men's bouldering semifinals are scheduled for Sunday, September 28.
World Championships lead climbing in Seoul - qualification
Adam Ondra advanced today from 11th place in the lead climbing qualification at the World Championships in Seoul, South Korea, to the semifinals, which are scheduled for Friday, September 26. The rest of our team finished in the lead climbing qualification today.
Czech František Rys finished 7th today in the qualifying round for the World Para Climbing Championships in Seoul, South Korea, failing to advance to the finals. Czech girl Adéla Bodanská finished in 8th place at the weekend in the final of the Youth European Cup competition in lead climbing in Imst, Austria. The rest of the Czech team finished in the qualifying rounds.

This year's awards ceremony will take place on December 9-12, just like last year in the Dolomites at the San Martino di Castrozza mountain resort in Trentino, Italy.
