Pepa Šindel has climbed another 9a route, Nice Freshly Baked in Frankenjura, Germany. He recorded the climb in his diary on Lezce and posted about it on Instagram. This is Pepa's twelfth route rated 9a to 9a+.
Jakub Konečný finished 8th in the final of the World Cup lead climbing competition in Madrid, Spain, this evening. The winners were Korean Dohyun Lee and American Annie Sanders. Second were Spain's Alberto Ginés López and Italy's Laura Rogora, third Japan's Satone Yoshida and America's Brooke Raboutou.
Pepa Šindel recorded the ascent of the legendary Action Directe (11 UIAA) in Frankenjur, Germany, the first route of this difficulty in history since Wolfgang Güllich in 1991. It is Pepa's eleventh route from 9a to 9a+.

Czechs had three semifinalists today at the World Cup in lead climbing in Innsbruck, Austria. Michaela Smetanová did best in 9th, but first non-progressive place. Jakub Konečný finished in 19th place in the semifinals, Martin Stráník in 22nd. The lead final will therefore be without our competitors tomorrow.

Our Jan Štípek finished in 4th place in the final today at the European Cup in lead climbing in Campitello di Fassa in northern Italy. Two other Czechs finished in the semi-finals: Šimon and Štěpán Potůček in 17th and 20th place.

World Cup Prague again in 2026 and 2028, lead added to boulder
The International Federation of Sport Climbing IFSC has confirmed that the World Cup competitions will be held in Prague in 2026 and 2028, with bouldering next year also adding lead climbing. The previously approved World Climbing Championships in Brno are scheduled for 2027.
Adam Ondra advanced from the World Cup bouldering qualification in Prague to tomorrow's semi-finals today from shared 7th place. Our other men finished in the qualification.
