The 2nd World Cup competition 2008 in ice climbing for difficulty took place in Busteni, Romania this weekend with Czech participation: Jitka Mazlova was 8th among women, Lucie Hrozova was 9th and Silva Rajfova 11th. Stanislav Hovanec finished on 18th place among men.

The Czech mountaineering magazine Lide a hory wrote that the Sherpa who died last year during the Prague Mayor Pavel Bem ascent to Mount Everest was not member of his expedition but he was from an Italian expedition.
Expedition & Himalayan Festival - Grenoble, France
The Expedition Festival, witch is probably the only specific expedition meeting in Europe, will take place in French Grenoble and La Grave - La Meije (a very famous place for mountaineering) from 17th to the 20th January 2008.

The local top climber Dani Andrada on his blog reported, that Tomas Mrazek came on Tuesday and already climbed the route "Novena puerta" 8c+ and web 8a.nu contributed the information about Tomas had sent "Blumo" 8c+, too.
